The Last Hurrah!

For a commercial gallery operating in a country town outside the London circuit, the milestone of a 45th year represents a singular achievement. The Last Hurrah! is an exhibition celebrating this accomplishment with some of the best loved artists from the gallery's exceptional roll call.

Patricia Jordan Evans is regarded as an authority in the field of Modern British Art. This is reflected in the inclusion of artists such as John Piper, Julian Trevelyan, Mary Fedden and Ceri Richards in The Last Hurrah!, all of whom have fostered an intimate relationship with the gallery since its opening.

Within 18 months of the gallery opening John Piper had joined, enjoying solo shows every two years. Patricia curated the celebrated exhibition 'Piper and the Church' at Dorchester Abbey as a celebration of HM the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

Julian Trevelyan, whose estate the Bohun is proud to manage, will be show alongside his wife Mary Fedden. Patricia met the couple in their studio during the late 70s and there began a long and happy working relationship and great friendship.
We both loved the gallery, and we quickly realised how professional and discerning Pat was, and what high standards she set. She has never changed in this uncompromising approach. - Mary Fedden, 1993.

Patricia Jordan Evans has established strong links with Royal Scottish Academicians and many of Scotland's finest living artists are included in this exhibition:

Joyce Cairns, who was recently elected to be the first woman President of the Royal Scottish Academy in 193 years.

Narine Tassie who won national Landscape Artists of the Year in 2015.

Bohun Gallery, being one of only four galleries selected by the Barns-Graham Foundation, is showing the work of the great 20th Century abstract artist Wilhelmina Barns -Graham.

Other Scottish artists included in The Last Hurrah! are Marj Bond, Victoria Crowe, Neil Macpherson, Jenifer McRea and James McDonald.

The Last Hurrah! will exhibit a variety of mediums, including sculptures from Patrick Barker and John Brown, in addition to the stone engravings of Martin Cook.
Hambling, Bill Jacklin, Fiona Millais, Paula Rego, David Remfry and Eric Rimmington are just a few of the large variety of artists contributing to Bohun Gallery's closing exhibition.
