Artists
Peter Wright

Peter Wright began potting in the 1950s,
exhibiting at venues including the Design
Centre and the Victoria and Albert Museum
and the Bristol Guild before the end of the
decade.

He started to concentrate on this type of
figurative interlocking sculpture from the
late 1970s, either hand-built, or, as here,
slip-cast. Very finely modelled, the more
abstract examples are reminiscent of the
work of Henry Moore and, more generally,
have been likened to traditional
Staffordshire flatback figures.
