Rippling water acquires ethereal beauty in a work John Mackechnie RSA screen-printed by hand at Glasgow Print Studio in 2013.
It's based on the artist's own photographs of Scotland's 'Road to the Isles' running from Arisaig and Mallaig, and one of an ongoing series of water images that began around 2003.
Mackechnie is one of the UK's foremost artist printmakers, creating editions of original prints in various media since the 1960s.
Public collections to hold Mackechnie's work include those of the Scottish Arts Council; the Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, Glasgow; the Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco; the NorrkArt Museum, Sweden; and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
