David Cass has received a series of notable awards and has been part of several key UK arts events (the Threadneedle Prize, the Sunday Times Watercolor Competition, the National Open Art Competition, the RWS). He has exhibited in many of the UK's principal institutions: the Royal Academy, the Royal College of Art, the Royal Scottish Academy, the Scottish Gallery, and the Mall Galleries - to name a few. His work is featured in both private and public collections - throughout Europe, and further afield too.
A recipient of the RSA John Kinross travelling scholarship to Florence, David Cass already has six paintings in the Royal Scottish Academy collection.
Cass is difficult to pigeon-hole as he works across such a wide variety of disciplines including painting, sculpture, photography and film. Collecting objects and painting on them, he uses and re-uses the materials he finds to create beautiful works of art.
